The Easiest Way To Identify Stretch marks
Written by Naomi West

For many individuals their skin is delicate and there might be many problems linked with it. One of these most standard problems are stretch marks. These marks form on the surface of the skin and is thought to be a form of scarring that is made when the derma of the skin has been extended and split.

Over a period of time the marks will decrease and for some individuals will lighten up. There are contrasting treatments that individuals may use - which will aid them to remove them or at least to decrease their appearance much faster. But in order to understand what they are and how you can treat them you must be able to identify them and understand what causes them.

Stretch marks might be made by several different things that we do. It is normally the result of the skin extending due to quick weight loss or weight gain, exercise, and hormonal alterations in the body. Each of these things are able to make the elasticity in the derma or the surface layer of the skin to break and the skin to stretch beyond what is typical.

Pregnant women are most weakened to these marks because their bellies are developing and elongating at a fast rate in order to hold the baby. Other people may also have them on their inner thighs, inside of their arms, underarms, buttocks, hips, and breasts. Certain men will have stretch marks in their inner arms due to the quantity of muscle building that they are doing.

The better way to recognize these marks is by the purple and reddish lines that they produce. Depending on the individual and the cause of them these lines may be either thin and small or very big and thick. When you touch them they are not painful - but will be soft when touched. Over time they will normally lighten and become white to blend in with the healthy skin round it.

When you have seen stretch marks anywhere in your body it would be smart to understand what can be making them. For certain people it may be inherited and though they are thin they can have small amounts of them. One of the better ways to prevent them is to drink a good deal of water to help amend the elasticity of the skin.
