Be Careful while you are in Makkah these days.



A friend of mine "Khalid". Two days ago he went to Makkah in his private car to visit his friend. He is a resident and not Saudi and his friend just came for Hajj only and stayed in hotel. Khalid sit with him for a while next to hotel then he took him by his car to have a round and eat together. They finished their meal and back to hotel. On the way to hotel and while driving the car, a policeman stopped them in check point, this is a normal in Makkah particularly these days in Makkah due to Hajj seasion. The policeman requested Khalid & His friend to present their ID 's, he showed his Iqama and his friend showed his Hajj card. Then the policeman accused Khalid that he is doing taxi business and Khalid tried to convince him that they are friends but no way. The policeman insisted to take him and his car into Jail. The policeman told him that we will send you back to your country but AlHamdulellah after severe attempt the policeman took the car only and released Khalid. And now it is so difficult to release his car.



However these days in Makkah there is a committee to search for those who are using their own cars as taxi regardless of thier nationality. Please be careful even if you are not doing a taxi business.
